About the role

  • Senior Project Engineer providing technical leadership for the Monark-D Program at AtkinsRéalis. Involved in design, integration, procurement, and performance optimization of turbine-generator systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering strategy, technical requirements, and equipment selection for turbine-generator systems and major rotating equipment
  • Provide technical oversight for steam turbines, generators, excitation systems, rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, and associated auxiliaries
  • Support plant heat balance development, equipment sizing, performance analysis, and efficiency improvement initiatives
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with OEMs, suppliers, consultants, and engineering partners
  • Lead technical evaluations, supplier reviews, bid assessments, and procurement activities
  • Coordinate interfaces across mechanical, electrical, I&C, civil/structural, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams
  • Support constructability reviews, installation planning, commissioning programs, startup activities, and performance testing
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to support project cost, schedule, reliability, and performance objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
  • 15+ years of engineering experience
  • 10+ years of direct experience with turbine-generator systems and/or major rotating equipment
  • Experience with large utility-scale steam turbines and power generation facilities
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment reliability, heat balance analysis, performance testing, and commissioning
  • PMP certification an asset
  • Experience in nuclear, thermal, or combined-cycle power generation projects
  • Direct experience working with turbine OEMs and major equipment suppliers
  • Experience supporting major EPC projects, Darlington Refurbishment, Darlington New Nuclear, Bruce Power, or CANDU fleet engineering
