About the role
- Senior Commercial Account Manager developing business and managing $3M–$50M client portfolios at BDC, Canada’s entrepreneur-focused bank. Providing financing, advisory services, and credit solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business and manage an existing portfolio of clients with revenues between $3M and $50M
- Provide financing solutions and advisory services that support business growth
- Meet with entrepreneurs to understand business needs, challenges, and growth objectives
- Recommend appropriate BDC financing and advisory solutions
- Execute a sales and portfolio management action plan aligned with Business Centre objectives to grow and retain clients
- Build and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities through proactive outreach and relationship development
- Review, structure, negotiate, and present financing proposals
- Exercise sound credit judgment
- Maintain an active presence in the local business community and leverage centres of influence to generate referrals and new clients
- Contribute to the success of Canadian businesses as part of a collaborative and inclusive team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or a related field
- Experience analyzing financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Experience assessing creditworthiness
- Demonstrated experience in business development, including meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Experience managing a client portfolio and developing long-term client relationships
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain professional networks within the business community
- For certain locations: valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
