About the role

Bridge Project Supervisor overseeing highway and infrastructure projects for a consulting firm in British Columbia. Balancing quality, safety, budget, and schedule in a field-based role.

Responsibilities

Act as Ministry Representative and lead construction contract administration on assigned projects
Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contract documents, specifications, safety, quality, and environmental requirements
Plan, coordinate, and supervise day labour construction forces, including hiring labour, equipment, and materials
Manage project budgets, including estimating, tracking, forecasting costs, and certifying quantities for payment
Chair and document preconstruction and construction meetings and prepare regular project status and expenditure reports
Resolve or assist in resolving construction claims, disputes, and contentious issues in collaboration with project managers and clients
Ensure quality management systems are implemented, including quality control, quality assurance, and auditing activities
Direct and mentor field staff and consultants, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused team environment
Maintain accurate project documentation, diaries, records, and as-built/red-line drawings
Understand and comply with the Binnie Safety Program and all applicable safety policies, procedures, and regulations

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Transportation, or Construction Engineering with a minimum of two years of related experience; OR a technical diploma with a minimum of four years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Extensive experience supervising field staff and managing construction contracts and resources
Proven experience delivering complex highway or transportation infrastructure construction projects
Strong knowledge of Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTT) Standard Specifications and contract administration practices
Demonstrated experience managing multi-million-dollar construction budgets and schedules
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent desktop productivity tools
Willing and able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions, travel throughout British Columbia, and work away from home as project requirements dictate
Valid driver’s license
