About the role

  • Import transportation supervisor leading logistics operations, compliance, and client service execution at Mohawk Global. Coaching teams, improving performance, and developing future leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day execution, performance, and development of an import transportation team
  • Ensure consistent service quality and timely communication across all accounts
  • Support resolution of client escalations and service concerns before manager involvement
  • Improve client satisfaction and retention while maintaining alignment with client SOPs and service expectations
  • Oversee daily team workflow, capacity planning, and operational execution
  • Monitor productivity, service levels, operational performance, KPIs, and workflow risks
  • Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, regulatory requirements, and service standards
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency
  • Act as the primary escalation point for Team Leads and operators
  • Resolve operational issues at team level and coach employees through solutions
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct regular bi-weekly or monthly 1:1 meetings focused on development, behavioral coaching, and career progression
  • Lead quarterly performance reviews and align development goals
  • Foster trust-based communication and deliver difficult performance and accountability conversations
  • Collaborate with leadership on performance improvement plans, corrective actions, and termination decisions
  • Serve as communication bridge between frontline teams and management
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration with Customs Brokerage, Exports, Account Management, and leadership
  • Ensure billing accuracy, shipment profitability awareness, and operational cost control
  • Reduce financial exposure through compliance and documentation oversight
  • Support KPI tracking, operational reporting, and team performance reviews
  • Maintain accurate operational records and system integrity
  • Reinforce process discipline to minimize errors and service failures
  • Build employee growth, accountability, engagement, independence, and future leadership readiness
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of import transportation operations, workflows, and compliance
  • Strong proficiency in CargoWise and operational systems
  • Understanding of service metrics, operational KPIs, and workflow analytics
  • Strong knowledge of customer SOPs and escalation procedures

  • Proven ability to manage team performance and operational priorities
  • Demonstrated leadership in coaching, accountability, and employee development
  • CargoWise advanced proficiency
  • Preferred: experience with KPI reporting and performance analysis
  • Preferred: cross-functional knowledge of customs brokerage and export operations
  • Preferred: experience leading process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to use standard office equipment
  • Ability to lift items under 25 pounds and bend, stand, and walk short distances as required
