About the role

  • Technical Artist at Blackbird Interactive creating compelling game content for a beloved franchise. Collaborating with designers, artists, and programmers to optimize game performance in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Working as the embedded TA on a Proprietary Engine
  • Performing Optimisation work and improving framerate stability
  • Coming up with quality solutions within technical constraints
  • Providing the animation, modeling, texturing and FX team with TA and implementation support
  • Performing with minimum supervision, working well in a small team, and taking ownership for problems whilst collaborating towards solutions
  • Acting as a bridge between Art, Engineering and the game engine
  • Authoring understandable documentation for tool and production pipelines

Requirements

  • A basic understanding of the VFX production pipeline/tools/etc
  • Understanding of shader development
  • Understanding of asset management
  • Initiative for creative problem solving and unorthodox solutions
  • Familiarity with game asset building
  • C++ Experience
