About the role
- Director of Technical Solutions leading only technical solutions delivery and cloud modernization for Insurance Solutions team. Partnering closely with Architecture, Engineering, and Business teams for operational resilience.
Responsibilities
- Own the end‑to‑end technical solution lifecycle — from initial discovery and design through build, integration, testing, deployment, and operationalization
- Lead delivery of complex technology initiatives, ensuring predictable execution, clear accountability, and alignment to business goals
- Drive cloud modernization by guiding teams through architecture decisions, migration strategies, and implementation across AWS or Azure
- Ensure all solutions meet compliance, security, and regulatory requirements, integrating risk and control considerations into design and delivery
- Advance resiliency practices by embedding fault‑tolerance, reliability, disaster recovery readiness, and operational continuity into solutions
- Partner with Architecture to assess technology options, define solution patterns, and ensure alignment to enterprise standards
- Oversee delivery planning, cross‑functional coordination, and execution management across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Evaluate products, vendors, and tooling options to support modern solution development and accelerate technical delivery
- Support governance through participation in roadmap discussions, funding evaluations, and risk and architecture reviews
- Promote best‑in‑class engineering and delivery practices, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned to modernization goals
- Serve as a senior advisor to business and technology partners, providing clarity on feasibility, risks, trade‑offs, and recommended approaches
- Build and sustain a high‑performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
- 10+ years of experience delivering technology solutions in complex, regulated enterprise environments
- Demonstrated experience leading end‑to‑end technical solution development across the full lifecycle
- Hands‑on experience modernizing systems and migrating applications to AWS or Azure
- Strong understanding of technology controls, compliance requirements, and risk management within financial services
- Proven track record of leading cross‑functional delivery using Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies
- Experience in solution design, integration patterns, and modern engineering approaches
- Ability to manage competing priorities and navigate complex technical and business landscapes
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to technical SMEs, business stakeholders, and senior leadership
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and ability to influence across a matrixed organization
