About the role

  • Associate role supporting workplace health and safety initiatives at Castlemain. Designing culturally sensitive safety programs and collaborating with teams across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director, Workplace Health and Safety to design and implement trauma‑informed and culturally safe safety programs
  • Support the development of policies, procedures, and day‑to‑day processes
  • Coordinate the establishment of joint health and safety committees across provinces and territories
  • Contribute to incident investigations, including root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions
  • Provide guidance to staff and leaders on safe workplace practices

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience developing and/or maintaining an occupational health and safety management system
  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or certificate in occupational health and safety
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including provincial and territorial occupational health and safety acts, codes, and regulations, as well as applicable standards
  • Experience applying project and change management principles and practices to health and safety initiatives
  • Experience with community health and capacity‑building programs (e.g., mobile social workers, personal support workers)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of English and French
