About the role
- Associate role supporting workplace health and safety initiatives at Castlemain. Designing culturally sensitive safety programs and collaborating with teams across Canada.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director, Workplace Health and Safety to design and implement trauma‑informed and culturally safe safety programs
- Support the development of policies, procedures, and day‑to‑day processes
- Coordinate the establishment of joint health and safety committees across provinces and territories
- Contribute to incident investigations, including root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions
- Provide guidance to staff and leaders on safe workplace practices
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience developing and/or maintaining an occupational health and safety management system
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or certificate in occupational health and safety
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including provincial and territorial occupational health and safety acts, codes, and regulations, as well as applicable standards
- Experience applying project and change management principles and practices to health and safety initiatives
- Experience with community health and capacity‑building programs (e.g., mobile social workers, personal support workers)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of English and French
