About the role

  • Supervisor overseeing Technology Support team for Montreal Production division at CBC/Radio-Canada. Promoting operational excellence by providing guidance and supporting technicians in various media sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Technology Support team for the Montreal Production division
  • Serve as spokesperson and contact for the support team covering News, Radio and General Television
  • Sustain operational excellence by providing direct guidance and immediately coordinating operational support
  • Promote a healthy work environment
  • Oversee the work done by technicians in Montreal, including support at Maison de Radio-Canada, Grandé Studio or outside events
  • Supervise employee logistics and allocate staff for productions
  • Be the primary point of contact during major outages
  • Co-ordinate troubleshooting and problem-solving by documenting issues and solutions
  • Define training needs and maintain a continuing education calendar

Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma, preferably in communications, technology or television broadcasting
  • At least three years’ relevant experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of French
  • Jira platform knowledge is an asset
  • Vimbiz platform knowledge is an asset
  • Knowledge of television broadcasting is essential
  • Leadership experience
  • Management experience in a unionized environment
  • Ability to work a primarily daytime schedule but remain available 24/7
  • Availability to work on call outside regular business hours
