About the role

  • Shift Supervisor overseeing production crews, safety, quality, and KPIs at ROCKWOOL, a stone wool solutions manufacturer. Managing rotating 12-hour shifts and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality, KPI, and deadline requirements
  • Coordinate, motivate, support, and guide production crews
  • Communicate daily events, deviations, corrective actions, and outstanding issues
  • Ensure housekeeping routines and safety rules are followed
  • Enter and mitigate Good Catches in the reporting database
  • Manage Line and/or PSM departments to meet daily production KPIs
  • Follow production schedules and set up crews safely and efficiently
  • Work closely with shift maintenance to ensure smooth operations
  • Coordinate rework and scrap, identify root causes, and mitigate production issues
  • Ensure ROPEX boards and daily communications are completed and deviations are addressed
  • Coordinate crews during emergencies, ensure safety, and complete incident investigations
  • Read and communicate daily Operational Notes
  • Attend and contribute to Tier 1 and Tier 2 Production Meetings
  • Communicate management directives to crew members
  • Coach, develop, and train the team for continuous improvement
  • Create and manage detailed shift reports
  • Oversee projects to streamline processes and improve efficiencies
  • Approve employee time
  • Drive daily ROPEX requirements and motivate team members

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of production supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • University or Technical College graduate, preferably in Business Management, Operations Management, or Engineering, or equivalent years of experience
  • Elevated Safety and Quality standards
  • Sound understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience working with a unionized workforce
  • Exceptional communication and team-building skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good people development and training skills
  • Ability to work both day and night shifts
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule of 3 days on and 3 days off
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 7:00
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage stressful work situations
