About the role

  • Senior UI Developer building scalable trading applications for Citi’s Rates Technology team. Delivering client-side systems, integrations, and production support for Rates trading.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement new and revised application systems and programs
  • Collaborate with Rates trading desks to understand requirements and workflow challenges
  • Translate business needs into intuitive, efficient, user-centric UI designs
  • Design scalable web UI architecture
  • Write high-quality code and conduct comprehensive testing
  • Improve software development lifecycle methodologies, code quality standards, and best practices
  • Deliver large-scale, complex technology projects from conception through deployment
  • Provide third-line production support and handle escalated issues requiring deep technical analysis
  • Review proposed technical solutions for robustness, scalability, and architectural alignment
  • Develop knowledge of business integration and ensure technology solutions enhance business processes
  • Identify innovation opportunities, research emerging trends, and adapt technologies
  • Follow development and operational procedures
  • Assess and manage risk, safeguard Citi, its clients, and assets, and drive regulatory compliance
  • Escalate, manage, and report control issues transparently

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6+ years of in-depth professional development experience, with a dominant focus on building sophisticated client-side applications
  • Expert-level proficiency in Angular, ReactJS, JavaScript, HTML5, ES6+, TypeScript, and reactive programming paradigms such as RxJS
  • Experience designing and integrating streaming data feeds and RESTful APIs
  • Experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems
  • Practical experience with Kafka, Solace, and MongoDB
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Tekton
  • Experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, desk-facing role within a financial services environment
  • Exposure to Test-Driven Development (TDD) and application performance profiling
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and ambition to learn financial derivatives mathematics
  • Excellent analytical and methodical problem-solving approach
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail, self-motivation, and willingness to learn and adapt
  • Prior knowledge of the Rates Derivatives business preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
