About the role

  • Localization Specialist delivering multilingual content and course package translations for D2L’s education technology platform. Managing translation quality, vendors, documentation, and localization workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to identify localization gaps and resolve translation issues
  • Support new translation deals and project manage end-to-end delivery of the Course Package Translation Service
  • Develop, conduct, and track translation quality programs
  • Analyze localizability and localization workflow issues and provide innovative solutions
  • Develop, document, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Create external documentation, including FAQs, blog posts, SOPs, and Known Issue and Fixed Issue articles
  • Assist with high-priority localization tasks and initiatives
  • Leverage AI-powered tools for content creation, translation QA, and workflow efficiency while ensuring accuracy and adherence to AI governance
  • Create, publish, and peer review content and media according to technical writing standards
  • Monitor and maintain publishing queues; review, edit, and publish external content
  • Analyze localization issue trends and time to resolution to produce actionable insights
  • Gather and analyze localization requirements with requestors and subject matter experts
  • Own successful completion of course package translation projects and other localization requests
  • Manage vendor relationships to deliver projects on time and within budget

Requirements

  • A 4-year college degree or 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with human/machine translation and post-editing project management
  • Fluency in at least one language other than English (Canadian French, Mexican Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, or Arabic)
  • Experience with GitHub as a platform for version control
  • Experience with Translation Management Software
  • Familiarity with content and learning management systems (CMS and LMS)
  • Knowledge of programming languages, such as JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Strong project management, technical writing, problem-solving, and customer support skills
  • Ability to use data tracking tools
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and deliver projects on time within budget
