About the role

  • Associate Director leading Quality Assurance to enhance QA practices at Derivative Path. Drive quality culture and mentor QA teams embedded in development lifecycle of financial technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the existing QA team to be quality enablers who embed in sprint planning, collaborate with developers and product managers throughout the development process, and drive a culture where the whole team owns quality outcomes
  • Define and execute QA strategy that emphasizes automation, early quality involvement, and shared ownership across Product, Engineering, Design, and Infrastructure teams—partnering with Product Owners to strengthen acceptance criteria and collaborating with Engineering to improve automated test coverage across CI/CD pipelines
  • Apply domain expertise in derivatives workflows—including interest rate swaps, FX trades, commodity hedging, and hedge accounting—to guide risk-based testing approaches and identify critical test scenarios across pre-trade analytics, execution, and post-trade monitoring
  • Drive quality and performance culture by ensuring teams consider monitoring, observability, test coverage, and regression strategy as part of "done," establishing metrics and KPIs that reflect team-wide quality ownership and deployment success
  • Act as a quality advisor (not gatekeeper) in release planning and incident reviews, continuously assessing and improving QA tools, automation frameworks, and testing processes to enable faster, safer releases.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering
  • At least 3+ years in a senior or leadership role leading modern, automation-focused QA practices
  • Demonstrated domain experience in derivatives trading technology, treasury management systems, FX payments platforms, hedge accounting, or capital markets infrastructure serving financial institutions
  • Strong understanding of modern QA as an enabling function, including test automation frameworks, CI/CD integration, shift-left testing, and Agile/DevOps delivery models
  • Experience coaching engineers on writing better automated tests and partnering with Product to define testable requirements
  • Ability to translate complex derivatives workflows, regulatory requirements, and risk management scenarios into collaborative quality strategies that distribute ownership across disciplines
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to drive cultural change toward shared quality responsibility
  • Hands-on familiarity with QA tools, automation frameworks (for multiple test types), test management systems, and CI/CD pipelines.

Benefits

  • Competitive bonus, base salary, and equity compensation
  • 23 days of PTO
  • Fully remote RRSP contribution at 3%
  • Competitive health benefits
