About the role

  • Analyst supporting infrastructure and renewable-energy financing at Desjardins Capital Markets. Building financial models, assessing credit risk, and executing complex corporate-banking transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior team members in executing new transactions and monitor specialized financing portfolios in public and private infrastructure, renewable energy, and energy transition sectors
  • Participate in due diligence for new transactions and prepare internal credit presentation documentation
  • Assess profitability and prepare credit applications for annual reviews and amendments for existing and new clients
  • Review and monitor financial performance and risk evolution of existing borrowers, including term loans, revolving credit facilities, and other financial products
  • Perform internal risk assessments, including reviewing market studies, engineering reports, financial models, client financial statements, and project contracts
  • Interact with internal business partners and external stakeholders, including Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Derivatives, independent engineers, legal counsel, and insurance advisors
  • Build and manipulate financial models for project finance clients and complex transactions
  • Support development of financial products aligned with ESG principles
  • Provide ad hoc reports for management
  • Advise clients and partners on ESG-related initiatives
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in finance, corporate finance or another related field
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Experience in the infrastructure and energy transition sectors
  • Experience in capital markets and/or project finance
  • Professional designations such as CFA, CPA or CAIA
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Advanced proficiency of English
  • Advanced knowledge of credit analysis and capital markets
  • Solid understanding of financial structuring and financial modelling
  • Interest in infrastructure and renewable energy
  • Action oriented, Customer Focus, Differences, Drive results, Interpersonal Savvy, Nimble learning
