• Responsible for the intake and triage of complaints and reports related to professional regulation matters
• Review information in accordance with Unit protocols
• Identify regulatory issues and risk, and matters for possible informal resolution
• Follow-up with employers, complainants, the Ministry of Education, Police, Children’s Aid Societies, courts and other parties to obtain necessary information
• Prepare concise summaries of the initiating documents for the Manager’s review and consideration
• Follow next steps as directed by the Manager
• Draft required correspondence and notifications (e.g. notice of delay letters, notifications to employers)
• Ensure all personal information included in notifications is redacted as appropriate/required to maintain confidentiality
• Perform case management activities including: closing files, managing receipt of case documents, creating and organizing electronic files, updating the case management system and assisting with preparing reports on trends and emerging issues
• Keep up-to-date with applicable legislation, trends and practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
