About the role
- Financial Analyst supporting Ontario’s early-childhood regulator with payroll, reporting, budgeting, and audit functions. Preparing reconciliations, forecasts, member-payment analyses, and long-term financial plans.
Responsibilities
- Perform bookkeeping activities for the College
- Liaise with third-party provider to administer and process scheduled payroll runs
- Prepare and process payroll entries and reconciliations
- Process enrollments, terminations and other changes related to benefits plans
- Respond to and resolve pay- and benefit-related inquiries and problems
- Provide support during the annual audit
- Support processing of member payments and transactions
- Investigate issues with member payments
- Provide updates to the Registration Department
- Prepare scheduled and ad-hoc financial reports
- Assist with budgets and forecasts
- Assist with long-term financial plans and analyze changes to the College’s financial position
- Keep up-to-date with applicable legislation, trends and practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Four-year university program in Finance or Accounting
- Enrolled in the Canadian Payroll Association program
- 2 to 3 years' experience including technical experience with accounting, budgeting, payroll, financial reporting/analysis, and audit
- Current knowledge of Canadian financial reporting
- Knowledge of accounting and payroll software, and office/administrative software (Microsoft Office)
- Judgment, analytical, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team in an environment with changing priorities
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Time management skills
