About the role

  • Electrical Engineering Specialist at Enbridge focusing on safe operation and support of gas transmission electrical assets. Collaborate with technical teams and provide emergency response assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently supply technical aid to field operations and personnel in relation to relevant code, processes, standards, and guidelines.
  • Support or lead technical operations accountabilities such as preparing and approving work packages for engineering modifications, audits, reliability support, investigations, process improvements, and technical reviews.
  • Provide technical support in emergency response situations and efforts.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop solutions for equipment and process reliability issues and evaluate risks to prioritize project funding for optimal safety, integrity, and reliability impact.
  • Routinely connect with industry peers, vendors, manufacturers, project managers, and regional interested parties fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Are a registered member, as a Professional Engineer, with APEGA in the province of Alberta or with EGBC in the province of British Columbia.
  • You have a minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering and power systems.
  • Knowledge and in depth understanding of control systems, electrical transmission, high voltage systems, natural gas power generation, and UPS systems.
  • Proven experience with large industrial power systems (substation, large electric motor drives, variable frequency drives, and associated switchgear).
