Field Applications Engineer troubleshooting EnerSys battery-buffered DC fast chargers and energy storage systems. Analyzing fleet data, validating fixes, and improving deployed charging reliability.
Responsibilities
Maintain and improve the reliability, availability, and performance of deployed battery-buffered DC fast charging stations.
Work closely with the EnerSys Service team to resolve issues.
Lead or support root-cause investigations into charger downtime, unexpected reboots, failed charging sessions, recurring faults, and degraded performance.
Perform EV interoperability and compatibility testing across different vehicle manufacturers, models, and charging implementations.
Analyze charging protocols, system logs, telemetry, fault data, and charging-session behavior to diagnose vehicle-to-charger compatibility issues.
Develop software, scripts, diagnostic utilities, automated tests, and data-analysis tools that improve troubleshooting and system validation.
Reproduce field failures in test environments and validate engineering fixes before deployment.
Partner with Site Reliability Engineering to analyze large operational datasets and identify systemic reliability trends across the charging fleet.
Develop metrics, dashboards, and analytical methods for understanding charger uptime, downtime, reboot frequency, fault recurrence, charging success rates, and recovery performance.
Correlate software releases, hardware configurations, vehicle types, environmental conditions, and operational events with reliability outcomes.
Translate field and fleet data into actionable engineering recommendations and clearly defined problem statements for hardware and software development teams.
Support deployment and validation of corrective actions and measure their effectiveness after release.
Collaborate across electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, systems, test, operations, field service, and SRE teams to drive issues through root cause and permanent resolution.
Document technical investigations, root causes, corrective actions, test results, and lessons learned to continuously improve the charging platform.
