About the role
- Field Service Engineer installing, troubleshooting, and repairing Agilent laboratory instruments across Alberta. Supporting scientists and collaborating with technical, sales, marketing, and R&D teams.
Responsibilities
- Install and optimize hardware, software, network products and configurations at customer sites
- Diagnose and resolve product performance problems
- Perform maintenance and repair services
- Advise customers on preventive maintenance and configurations that may impact product performance
- Proactively respond to potential equipment or software issues to prevent unplanned business interruptions
- Deliver fully integrated solutions, including peripherals, communications, operating systems and application software
- Serve as an internal resource on technical issues and manage product escalations
- Collaborate with Support, Sales, Marketing and R&D teams to provide customer solutions
- Work at a variety of laboratories and continuously learn about new instruments, software and consumables
- Build customer success through problem-solving and high-level customer service
Requirements
- Post Secondary Degree within the science field – e.g. chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology or similar, or relevant work experience
- Five years experience with LC, LCMS, LCQTOF in a similar position or experience as an end user
- Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Experience with Agilent solutions is desired but not essential
- Verbal and written communication is clear, respectful and timely
- Enjoy travelling and visiting customers
- Ability to work a full-time weekly schedule
- Willingness to travel 25% of the time
