About the role
- Associate Director leading QA automation, SQL database validation, and Azure testing for EQ Bank’s commercial lending technology. Managing AQA teams and CI/CD quality initiatives on a six-month contract.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the AQA team, including hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers
- Define and implement the strategic vision for test automation across software applications, systems, and databases
- Drive adoption of automation best practices, methodologies, and frameworks
- Oversee SQL-based automated tests for database validation, data integrity, performance, and security
- Leverage Azure Machine Learning to develop predictive models for automated testing and identify potential software issues
- Guide testing automation for desktop applications, APIs, and systems
- Improve automation frameworks, testing processes, and toolsets
- Collaborate with product management, development, and DevOps teams
- Establish standards for test planning, execution, reporting, and comprehensive test coverage
- Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines
- Manage application and database performance testing
- Define, measure, and report quality metrics
- Identify and mitigate product-quality risks and resolve issues
- Update senior management and cross-functional teams on test results, challenges, and improvements
Requirements
- At least 10+ years of experience in AQA or software testing, with 5+ years in a leadership or management position
- Proven experience overseeing test automation across software applications, systems, and databases
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, database integrity validation, data migration, and ETL testing
- Strong experience with Azure Purview, Power Automate, Azure DevOps, and Azure Machine Learning
- In-depth experience with Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cypress, Appium, or similar test automation tools and frameworks
- Experience developing and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks
- Experience testing web, desktop, and mobile applications, APIs, and databases
- Experience with performance, load, and stress testing using JMeter, LoadRunner, or equivalent
- Expertise integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, or other CI/CD platforms
- Experience leading large, distributed teams and complex, multi-stage testing projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Solid experience in Agile environments and understanding of Agile testing principles
- Experience with test management tools such as JIRA
