About the role

  • Financial Operations Administrator supporting Equitable Bank, a Canadian challenger bank, with payment processing, banking platforms, expense administration, and operational controls.

Responsibilities

  • Support Equitable Bank's banking operations, payment processing, expense management administration, operational controls, reporting, and business continuity activities
  • Administer corporate banking platforms, including user administration, access management, and payment template management
  • Execute and monitor wire payments, account transfers, cheque-related activities, and other banking transactions
  • Monitor daily payment activity and clearing line utilization
  • Coordinate temporary limit increases with banking partners
  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact with banking service providers
  • Support banking infrastructure for new products, services, and operational initiatives
  • Coordinate bank signing authorities, authorized banking contacts, user access, and corporate banking documentation
  • Generate operational reports and provide banking transaction information
  • Administer the Concur expense management platform, including employee expense claims, user profiles, reporting, and system administration
  • Prepare and distribute operational, management, and banking-related reporting
  • Maintain procedures, user guides, process documentation, and operational controls documentation
  • Support operational risk management, internal controls, audits, and compliance activities
  • Update the Finance and Accounting Business Continuity Plan and coordinate annual continuity and disaster recovery testing
  • Provide ad hoc operational and administrative support to senior management
  • Report to the Director, Business Reporting and Settlement

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Enrollment in, or completion of, a professional accounting designation program (CPA) is considered an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial operations, bank administration, payment operations, expense administration, or a related finance function
  • Experience within the financial services industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of banking operations, payment processing, operational controls, wire payment screening requirements, and financial administration processes
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and resolve operational issues
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy under time-sensitive deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Word skills, and intermediate Excel and data analysis capabilities
