About the role
- Staff Engineer architecting Java microservices, AWS infrastructure, and enterprise SaaS integrations. Mentoring engineers and automating Finance, HR, and Sales operations for EverCommerce’s service-commerce platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements discovery with Finance, People/HR, and Sales Ops stakeholders
- Translate operational needs into end-to-end technical architecture
- Build functional proofs of concept and drive production implementation
- Mentor and coach Software Engineers and Senior Software Engineers
- Lead architecture design reviews and establish PR/code review practices
- Design, build, and maintain secure Java 17/21 Spring Boot microservices in AWS
- Design and implement integrations across Salesforce, Workday, NetSuite, Zuora, Stripe, and Coupa using Workato and custom REST/GraphQL APIs
- Build internal dashboards, admin consoles, and workflow automation portals with TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Java
- Architect and maintain AWS microservices and serverless infrastructure using API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB/RDS, Secrets Manager, and IAM via Terraform
- Develop generative AI solutions, LLM agents, RAG pipelines, and MCP connectors using AWS Bedrock and Claude/OpenAI APIs
- Champion CI/CD, automated testing, centralized logging/monitoring, and SOX compliance
- Provide L3 escalation support, conduct blameless root-cause analysis, and implement permanent architectural remediation
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
- At least 2+ years operating in a staff, tech lead, or principal engineering capacity
- Demonstrated track record of mentoring and elevating Software Engineers and Senior Software Engineers
- Deep, production-grade proficiency in Java 17/21 and Spring Boot
- Experience developing RESTful APIs, distributed microservices, multithreading, and event-driven architectures
- Strong working knowledge of TypeScript, React, HTML5, and CSS3
- Hands-on integration and data-model experience across at least two major enterprise domains
- Experience with NetSuite, Zuora, Stripe, or Coupa
- Experience with Workday HCM, Benefits, or Compensation
- Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or CPQ
- Deep expertise with AWS core and serverless architecture, including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, IAM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and S3
- Deep experience with enterprise iPaaS tools, especially Workato, or MuleSoft/Boomi
- Experience with native REST/webhook and custom connector development
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, and data lake/warehouse concepts such as Databricks and Snowflake
- Understanding of OAuth 2.0, SAML, mTLS, Okta SSO/SCIM, ITGC, SOX, and SOC 2
- Exceptional ability to communicate with C-suite and VP-level business partners and technical teams
- Must be eligible to work without sponsorship
- Preferred: Go, Python, AWS Bedrock, LangChain4j, OpenAI/Claude APIs, vector embeddings, MCP connectors, Terraform, AWS SAM, CDK, and high-volume transaction or billing migration experience
