About the role
- Full Stack Python Developer building financial portfolio management software for banks and institutional clients. Owning Python, React, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL features end to end.
Responsibilities
- Own product features end-to-end, from requirements analysis and design through testing and release
- Divide time across the full stack, with greater focus on backend services and ongoing front-end development
- Design, build, and maintain Python services and APIs using FastAPI in an Azure-hosted microservices architecture
- Develop maintainable React and TypeScript interfaces for financial data and reporting
- Work with complex PostgreSQL schemas while protecting data integrity and personally identifiable information
- Aggregate overnight and real-time feeds from multiple financial systems into end-user reporting
- Investigate and resolve production data issues, including optimizing slow-running queries
- Build logging and maintainability into applications for effective monitoring and troubleshooting
- Direct AI coding agents, use GitHub Copilot in code review, and configure agent tooling within the established architecture
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience, with a track record of delivering production features
- Solid Python backend experience with FastAPI or a comparable web framework, including RESTful API design, or strong backend experience in C#/.NET and readiness to work in Python
- Hands-on experience building production interfaces with React and TypeScript
- Strong SQL skills and relational database experience, ideally with PostgreSQL, including data modeling, query analysis, and performance tuning
- Sound understanding of microservices architecture and how services, data feeds and integrations interact in a production system
- Practical experience with AI coding assistants or agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Cursor, including providing context, reviewing generated code and verifying results, or clear readiness to adopt them quickly
- Proficiency with Git and modern delivery practices, including code review and automated testing
- Ability to translate business requirements into a clear implementation plan and explain reasoning and trade-offs to technical and non-technical colleagues
- Experience in FinTech, wealth management or portfolio management software (nice to have)
- Experience with Azure services and CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (nice to have)
- Experience with production monitoring, log analytics, or support of business-critical systems (nice to have)
