About the role
- Software Engineer building AI agents, lifecycle automation and referral features for Total Life, a telehealth company serving older adults. Improving patient conversion, retention and care workflows.
Responsibilities
- Own the full client lifecycle, including acquisition, intake, eligibility, scheduling, sessions, billing and claims, retention and re-engagement
- Design and build agentic systems for outreach, intake, insurance checks, appointment reminders, billing follow-up and re-engagement
- Build re-engagement flows for patients at risk of dropping out of care
- Build referral and growth loops, including patient and family referrals and provider and partner referral tools
- Ship features and products quickly
- Set up event tracking, dashboards, alerts and experiments
- Monitor results and report on conversion, lifecycle and referral metrics
- Connect agents and features to CRM, scheduling, insurance eligibility, billing, SMS and voice workflows
- Build evaluation and monitoring to keep healthcare agents accurate, safe and compliant
- Work directly with the founder, operations, billing and marketing to automate bottlenecks
Requirements
- 2–4+ years building production software, full-stack preferred
- Strong hands-on experience with Go or willingness to learn quickly
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs, including tool use, multi-step agents, prompt design and evaluations
- Fluency with SQL, analytics tools and experiment design
- Ability to explain what moved a metric and why
- Track record of owning and improving a funnel, lifecycle or growth metric
- Experience building referral, viral or retention features into a product
- Self-starter able to identify, scope and ship problems independently
- Comfortable working on a small team and wearing many hats
- Product sensibility and ability to design simple solutions
- Bonus: health tech, billing or claims systems, HIPAA, voice or SMS AI, or products for older adults
