Responsibilities

  • As an expert in power system dynamics and control, you will lead the ideation, design and validation of exploratory models.
  • Your work will guide our innovation roadmap by creating high-fidelity representations of grid scenarios to test new protection, automation and control applications.
  • Design and develop exploratory models of electrical systems (transient, steady-state or dynamic) to simulate emerging grid behaviours.
  • Translate complex concepts and protection/control philosophies into robust, high-fidelity models using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD or Opal-RT.
  • Develop and validate innovative algorithms for smart grid control and integrate them into simulation environments.
  • Ensure that all models, proposed solutions and roadmaps produced comply with current industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC).

Requirements

  • Degree in electrical engineering (specialization in power systems), renewable energy or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Demonstrable industrial or research experience as an expert in power systems modeling and simulation.
  • Proven track record of translating complex theories into simulation-based models for R&D purposes.
  • Strong understanding of power system dynamics, protection and control.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert complex theory into clean, logical and maintainable implementations.
  • Solid understanding of professional development practices (modularity, documentation, use of version control (Git), testing and maintenance) in a commercial project environment, whether implemented as MATLAB/Simulink models, scripts or custom simulation logic.
  • Experience applying relevant industry standards (IEEE/IEC) to technical designs.

Benefits

  • The Mission Handicap Grid Solutions facilitates the integration of people with disabilities.
