About the role
- Senior Frontend Engineer modernizing Bridge’s mission-critical learning and career-development software. Owning React and TypeScript features, accessibility, microfrontends, and legacy application improvements.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of frontend work on Bridge’s core product
- Modernize and maintain a large, mission-critical legacy application
- Plan and drive strategic feature development
- Ship new features and fix complex bugs
- Collaborate on project architecture
- Oversee microfrontend frameworks spanning 20+ production applications
- Lead cross-functional team initiatives
- Work with product owners, designers, and backend engineers to deliver features
- Build React and TypeScript frontends using shared component libraries
- Develop tested, accessible, internationalized, and performant user interfaces
- Monitor real-user frontend metrics, including Core Web Vitals
- Integrate with backend and data systems without owning them
Requirements
- Seasoned/senior frontend engineering experience
- Deep, production-proven experience with React and TypeScript
- Strong frontend fundamentals
- Experience building accessible applications to WCAG standards
- Ability to work independently in large, under-documented legacy codebases
- Ability to understand high-level architecture and connect legacy logic with modern services
- Experience across multiple technology stacks
- Working familiarity with Ruby on Rails
- Working familiarity with Java/Kotlin Spring Boot REST services
- Working familiarity with PostgreSQL on AWS Aurora
- Working familiarity with Apache Pulsar and Debezium-based ETL pipelines
- Working familiarity with AWS Neptune and AWS OpenSearch
- Working familiarity with GitHub Actions, Datadog, Terraform, Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Google Workspace
- Microfrontend or module-federation experience is a bonus
- Rails or JVM familiarity is a bonus
- Terraform and CI/CD depth is a bonus
- Graph or search infrastructure experience is a bonus
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and agents, such as Claude Code, is a bonus
