About the role

  • Lead complex substation project execution for GE Vernova’s Grid Systems Integration business. Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, customers, and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Review project scope and compare it with the GE Vernova quote upon transfer from the Commercial group to Project Management
  • Lead internal project kick-off meetings and assign roles and responsibilities
  • Lead customer kick-off meetings, communicate the work scope, and clarify order issues
  • Lead execution of complex substation projects in line with contractual scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements
  • Coordinate multiple sub-projects and workstreams into an integrated project view
  • Drive planning and execution across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, construction, commissioning, and handover
  • Establish and maintain project governance, including reviews, action tracking, decision logs, escalations, and leadership reporting
  • Monitor performance metrics and identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, delays, and cost impacts
  • Support sub-project leaders and functional teams in resolving cross-functional challenges and removing execution barriers
  • Manage customer communications and stakeholder coordination
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, internal processes, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety expectations
  • Lead change management, including scope-change evaluation, schedule impacts, cost implications, approvals, and customer notifications
  • Prepare project status updates, forecasts, and executive summaries for leadership
  • Drive accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across project teams
  • Support project closing, final deliverables, lessons learned, financial closure, and transition to warranty or service phases

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant project management experience in substations, grid infrastructure, energy, or large and complex industrial projects
  • Minimum 3 years of direct site execution experience on substation, grid infrastructure, or large-scale industrial/construction projects
  • Experience managing project schedule, budget, quality, and safety deliverables end-to-end
  • Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Green Card holder); no visa sponsorship available
  • Must be willing and able to travel 15% on average, up to 20% at peak, including week-long site visits approximately every 6 weeks
  • Must be able to work from a home office/remote setup or one of the approved locations: Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, or La Prairie, Canada
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and interdependencies
  • Experience working in cross-functional and international project environments
  • Strong background in project management methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks
  • Experience working with global or regional stakeholders, ideally in a matrixed environment
  • Experience in substation or grid project environments is a strong advantage
  • Fluent in English is required; French is a plus
