Engineering Graduate joining Materials Technology team for civil and geotechnical testing projects. Involved in Quality Assurance, site inspections, and supporting engineering team in Peterborough, Canada.
Responsibilities
Completion of Quality Assurance and Quality Control materials testing and inspection services on-site for various construction projects within Peterborough and the surrounding areas.
Conducting compaction testing during site grading and backfilling operations, including sampling soil and aggregates for laboratory analysis.
Concrete and asphalt sampling and testing for various building and infrastructure projects.
Providing support to the engineering team with the review of data and preparation of related documents, to be reviewed by senior engineering staff.
Support field staff in investigative work, including concrete coring, specialized testing, test pit investigations, and site data collection.
Requirements
Must be a recent graduate from a Bachelor of Engineering Degree program in civil, geotechnical, or similar engineering programs.
Strong interpersonal and customer service communication skills.
The capacity and willingness to learn new skills and testing procedures.
Access to a personal vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license to carry out daily site inspections.
Competent with the use of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Word and MS Excel.
Ability to lift and carry 23.7 kg (50 lbs.)
Willingness to work a regular 40-hour work week and possibly overtime up to a limit of 13 hours total per day.
Willingness to travel up to 200 km per day using a personal vehicle.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Able to commute to Peterborough Office (Mandatory)
