About the role

  • Senior Engineer in the City of Hamilton overseeing infrastructure and development projects while mentoring staff. Ensure compliance with municipal and provincial standards for effective city growth.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for review and approval of complex development applications and projects
  • Provide mentorship and guidance in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Ensure infrastructure is designed according to guidelines with minimal disruption
  • Develop quality services in a timely, cost-effective manner
  • Track financial and servicing data related to development projects

Requirements

  • University degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant work experience
  • Extensive knowledge of municipal infrastructure design and construction principles
  • Knowledge of the Planning Act and municipal service extensions
  • Class 'G' Driver’s License required
