Field Service Technician installing and maintaining NCR Voyix self - checkout and electromechanical systems for retail customers. Serving an assigned Quebec territory through customer - site service calls and repairs.
About the role
- Heavy Duty Mechanic troubleshooting and repairing Sandvik Mining surface equipment across Ontario mine sites. Commissioning new equipment and supporting customer operations.
Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems according to the scope of work
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance
- Commission new equipment
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists
- Stay current with the industry, customers, product developments, and technical best practices
- Comply with safety policies and applicable government, customer, or industry regulations
- Identify and report unsafe work habits, workplace incidents, and near misses
- Perform risk assessments (“Take Five”) prior to each task
- Maintain hand tools and equipment for safe operation
- Maintain an orderly work area and meet housekeeping requirements
- Attend Environmental, Health and Safety training
- Wear required personal protective equipment for each task
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager
Requirements
- Apprentice or Red Seal Mechanic
- At least 3 years related experience with mining equipment is considered an asset
- Previous experience with equipment would be an asset
- Excellent proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues with mining equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Canada as required
- Ability and willingness to work varied shifts as required
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
