About the role

  • Director of Product Development leading software engineering teams at HostPapa. Focused on implementing agentic workflows and AI-assisted engineering in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Engineering Managers and technical leads, setting clear expectations around delivery, quality, and ownership while helping teams perform at their best
  • Implement agentic workflows by redesigning the SDLC and integrating AI agents into everyday development, replacing repetitive, low-value coding work with automated generation and validation
  • Own and evolve the technical architecture across products, making practical decisions that balance scalability, maintainability, and speed
  • Improve how teams build and ship software by strengthening coding standards, reviews, testing, and development workflows, with a focus on frequent and reliable releases
  • Track and use engineering metrics (including delivery and reliability indicators) to spot issues early, guide decisions, and drive continuous improvement
  • Shape team structures and ways of working to improve clarity, accountability, and system stability, adjusting as the organization grows
  • Lead and design the transition to agentic engineering, ensuring teams use AI agents for code generation, automated testing, and fast prototyping of new marketplace apps
  • Work closely with Product, Operations, and other partners from planning through delivery, ensuring alignment while keeping engineering execution independent
  • Step in hands-on when needed for architecture reviews, complex technical issues, platform evolution like cloud and containers, or technical assessments during acquisitions
  • Support other tasks or projects as assigned to meet team and business needs

Requirements

  • Senior engineering leader experienced in managing other managers and scaling teams in fully remote environments
  • Strong software development background with deep experience in agentic orchestration and LLM integration, with a proven track record of using AI to significantly increase developer productivity and accelerate time to market for new features.
  • Proven experience leading remote-first teams through growth, change, and post-acquisition transitions
  • Experience guiding teams through technical debt cleanups and modernizing legacy systems into AI-enabled platforms
  • Practical leader who values clear documentation, continuous improvement, and data-informed decision making
  • Able to balance long-term technical direction with day-to-day leadership and hands-on involvement when needed
  • Clear communicator who can align with product and business partners while keeping engineering focused on delivery and quality
