Senior Product Manager needed for a 6 - month contract in downtown Vancouver with retail and data analytics experience. Onsite 4 days/week.
About the role
- Product Owner for cloud-based information management systems at Soutron Global. Collaborating with product teams to develop features that help preserve archival collections.
Responsibilities
- Own prioritization of development work for the Archives product, reporting to VP of Product, who will guide the strategy and work alongside you to move the product forward
- Participate in the Agile process, including remote team members, acting as the expert for the Archives product and its users
- Represent the archivist when planning features, driving new functionality development from a user perspective—understanding workflows around accessioning, arrangement, description, preservation, and access
- Interact with users virtually and in person to ensure a complete understanding of the problems they are trying to solve; conducting product walk-throughs for both internal and external audiences
- Assist development teams in creating a consistent, intuitive user experience for the Archives product
- Stay current with archival standards and best practices (ISAD(G), DACS, ISAAR(CPF), EAD, Dublin Core) and understand how they inform product requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Success, Sales, and Support teams to gather feedback and identify opportunities for product improvement
Requirements
- A post-secondary degree or certificate in a relevant discipline is required (Library Science, Information Science, History, Archival Studies, Computer Science, or related field)
- 3-5 years' experience in a technical environment or working with archives/records management systems
- Superior written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills are prerequisites for this role
- An aptitude for technical concepts and the ability to simplify them for less-technical individuals is integral to your success
- Experience using a development task-management system for backlog prioritization would serve you well
