About the role
- Accounting Analyst supporting accounting governance, financial close, and application improvements at iA Financial Group. Using analysis, technology tools, and process enhancement to reduce controllers’ workload.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to implementing an efficient workflow for responding to requests, manage team requests, gather relevant information, and ensure follow-up
- Conduct initial analyses of accounting issues and prepare drafts of analyses, recommendations, and communications
- Support advisors with research, analyses, and documentation of accounting positions
- Update and distribute accounting governance policies, directives, guides, and tools
- Maintain charts of accounts and support partners during the financial close process
- Respond to requests from internal and external auditors
- Maintain and enhance applications supporting financial production by gathering and analyzing user needs
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to implement improvements
- Act as a resource for users and follow up on requests, incidents, priorities, and timelines
- Plan and conduct acceptance testing
- Maintain accurate documentation and support change management through communications, training, and knowledge transfer
- Identify pain points and improvement opportunities and implement appropriate enhancements with business and technology teams
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in analysis
- CPA designation or currently in the process of obtaining it
- Experience working in a project environment or strong interest in applications and technology tools is an asset
- Interest in artificial intelligence, automation, and digital tools for simplifying financial processes
- Knowledge of SQL, Power Query, or a similar tool is an asset
- Knowledge of the IFRS 17 accounting standard is an asset
- Strong French and English communication skills, both spoken and written, due to frequent interactions with English-speaking colleagues or internal partners
- Thoroughness, curiosity, and an analytical mindset
- Commitment to customer service and ability to collaborate effectively with varied stakeholders
