About the role
- Accounting Technician preparing financial statements, compilation files, and corporate tax returns. Supporting diverse Canadian and U.S. business clients at Vine & Partners LLP.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and supporting working paper files
- Complete compilation engagements and assist with other engagements as needed
- Prepare corporate tax returns associated with financial statement engagements
- Maintain accurate and organized client files and documentation
- Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve questions
- Work collaboratively with partners and other members of the accounting team
- Support a variety of clients across different industries
- Assist with additional accounting and client-service work as required
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience working in a public accounting firm as an accounting technician or in a similar role
- Hands-on experience preparing financial statements and working paper files
- Hands-on experience with compilation engagements
- Familiarity with ASPE
- Experience managing ongoing client communication across multiple files
- Hands-on experience preparing corporate tax returns is an asset
- Experience with CaseWare, Excel and TaxPrep/iFirm is an asset
