About the role

  • Strategic Advisor analyzing markets, scenarios, and performance to guide executive decisions at iA Financial Group. Shaping corporate strategy for a major Canadian insurance and financial services organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the organization's competitive position through diagnostics, benchmarking analyses, and market research
  • Identify gaps, challenges, and strategic options for executive leadership
  • Monitor markets, competitors, consumers, technologies, regulatory developments, and emerging trends
  • Develop strategic hypotheses and future scenarios and assess their implications
  • Present options outlining trade-offs, benefits, risks, and success factors
  • Formulate and prioritize recommendations related to growth, differentiation, innovation, and value creation
  • Contribute to the development, refinement, and integration of strategic priorities into the planning cycle
  • Support stakeholder understanding and adoption of strategic priorities
  • Produce decision-support analyses
  • Monitor strategic priorities and performance indicators
  • Communicate findings, risks, interdependencies, and recommended adjustments
  • Lead or support cross-functional strategic initiatives, planning activities, retreats, and strategic workshops
  • Mobilize stakeholders and prepare briefing notes, executive summaries, and presentation materials
  • Advise the Strategy and Performance leadership team and the Executive Committee on key strategic priorities

Requirements

  • Holds a university degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning, management consulting, or executive advisory roles
  • Exceptional analytical, research, synthesis, modelling, and financial analysis skills
  • Autonomy, initiative, creativity, rigor, sound judgment, strategic mindset, intellectual curiosity, and strong business acumen
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, executive presentation, and influence skills
  • Advanced proficiency in French
  • Intermediate proficiency in English
  • Ability to participate in numerous discussions and read and draft documents in English daily with teams across Canada
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment requiring agility and strong prioritization while managing multiple complex mandates simultaneously
  • Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry is considered a strong asset
