About the role
- Senior Solutions Engineer building REST and GraphQL marketplace integrations for Jobber’s small-business service software. Partnering with engineers, product teams, and external developers to deliver customer solutions.
Responsibilities
- Work with Business Development, Jobber Engineering, and external third parties to propose and design solutions
- Develop and implement integration strategies for application marketplace offerings
- Collaborate on REST and GraphQL API solutions
- Act as liaison between technical teams and external stakeholders
- Provide technical support and guidance to integration partners
- Identify innovation and process-improvement opportunities
- Conceptualize, design, and iteratively deliver high-impact customer features
- Partner with Product and Design to shape the strategic product roadmap
- Participate in code reviews and testing
- Champion consistent engineering practices and reusable code solutions
- Drive consensus on optimal solutions for complex customer problems
- Research and implement industry best practices
- Communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Mentor and guide team members at all levels
- Report to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering
Requirements
- Previous experience in a solutions engineering or similar role
- Proven experience in application marketplace development and management
- Strong knowledge of REST and GraphQL APIs
- Demonstrated expertise developing highly scalable, robust software solutions across multiple technology-stack layers
- Proven leadership experience championing complex, high-impact projects and serving as a core contributor
- Exceptional proficiency in software design, architecture, and coding, with focus on maintainability and performance
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Mentorship/coaching experience
- Ability to independently identify and leverage resources for project delivery and problem-solving
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize tasks in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Continuous learning and awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends
- Experience with React, React Native, TypeScript, GraphQL API layer, Ruby on Rails, and AWS is preferred but not required
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Successful completion of a background check as a condition of employment
