About the role
- Concepteur logiciel senior développant des systèmes embarqués pour les équipements ferroviaires de Knorr-Bremse. Conception, intégration et validation de logiciels C/C++ pour sous-systèmes ferroviaires.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for railway subsystems.
- Define software architecture, modules, interfaces, and their interactions.
- Produce reliable, well-documented code that complies with best practices, including code reviews, static analysis, and testing.
- Structure and maintain software requirements specifications (SRS) and ensure their traceability.
- Integrate software with electronic modules and mechatronic systems.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and functional validation tests.
- Diagnose issues, perform root-cause analyses, and propose robust fixes.
- Contribute to testing on test benches and, when required, on vehicles.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, testing, and production teams.
- Participate in technical reviews and architecture analyses.
- Produce clear, structured documentation suitable for internal and external reviews.
Requirements
- Hold a status authorizing you to work in Canada.
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
- 6+ years of experience developing software for embedded systems or industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in embedded C/C++, microcontrollers, RTOS, and frameworks/middleware.
- Knowledge of CAN, RS485, TCP/IP, and software engineering practices, including architecture, requirements, testing, and CI.
- Asset: Experience in a standards-based environment (EN 50128/EN 50716, IEEE 1558, or equivalent).
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Fluency in French and English.
