About the role
- Part-time student operator training for Ledcor’s Ontario highway maintenance operations. Earning a DZ license while supporting winter and summer highway maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Complete training and license upgrades to obtain a DZ driver license
- Develop the skills necessary to become a safe and competent winter snowplow operator
- Support winter and summer highway maintenance operations
- Help keep highways and communities safe
- Perform physically demanding highway maintenance work in various weather conditions
- Work shifts, on-call periods, and night shifts as required
Requirements
- 18+ years of age
- Possess a minimum Class 5 License without restrictions and a clean driver’s abstract
- Able to pass an MTO medical exam and vision screening exam necessary to obtain an AZ/DZ license
- Safety-oriented with a commitment to quality
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50 lbs. on a regular basis, bending, kneeling, and crouching
- Approved applicants must commit to a minimum employment term
- Shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required
- Ability to work in various weather patterns
