About the role

  • Full Stack Engineer building scalable JavaScript, Node.js, and Python applications for Ledgebrook’s specialty insurance platform. Developing APIs, automated tests, and LLM tools for underwriter productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to develop new features and enhance existing applications
  • Design and implement frontend and backend components using JavaScript, Node.js, and Python
  • Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards
  • Implement automated tests and ensure high code quality through code reviews and continuous integration
  • Optimize application performance and scalability for growing user demands
  • Use and build LLMs to enhance underwriters’ productivity
  • Debug production issues using the latest tooling
  • Help set the direction of the small but growing engineering team
  • Facilitate and gather business requirements and develop scalable engineering solutions
  • Design data models based on business domain use cases

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with the full stack development
  • Ability to facilitate and gather business requirements and come up with scalable engineering solutions
  • Strong ability to design data models based on business domain use cases
  • Proven ability to write code for the future, with a strong focus on maintainability and testability
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools using Github Actions, AWS Code Pipelines, Jenkins, or other
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously per the objectives/goals of the organization and execute to deadlines
  • Prior startup experience (nice to have)
  • Experience with Python, JavaScript (nice to have)
  • Experience solving insurance industry/domain-related challenges (nice to have)
  • Experience in web technologies and frameworks (JS/TS, HTML, CSS/SCSS, Angular, React, Bootstrap, Node.js) (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (nice to have)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States, Poland, or Canada without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
