About the role

  • Field Service Technician maintaining Liebherr heavy mining equipment for Canadian mining operations. Diagnosing, repairing, and servicing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in Sparwood, BC.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engines, and gearbox/drive train systems
  • Perform new and used machinery preparation, scheduled maintenance, repair or overhaul, component replacement, commissioning, and adjustment of mechanical/hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment
  • Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections and prepare new and used equipment
  • Service Liebherr machinery, including fluid checks, sample pulling, oil and filter checks, lubricant changes, filter replacement, and greasing machine lube points
  • Inspect components, materials, and equipment, correct them to specifications, and achieve timely delivery programs
  • Complete final verifications specified in work instructions, scopes of work, verbal communication, and specifications
  • Submit accurate and timely reports and technical documents, including service reports
  • Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas according to company policy
  • Support shop repairs/work as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work a 14-days-on / 14-days-off schedule with 12-hour shifts and possible overtime on days off
  • Provide safe, efficient, and effective field repair and maintenance of heavy equipment while maintaining service quality and customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • Canadian/Alberta Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components
  • Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with component exchange, repair, and warranty-related activities
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings
  • Ability to communicate detailed and complex information clearly and concisely
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work alone and unsupervised for extended periods
  • Fully proficient with computers and Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work a 14-days-on / 14-days-off schedule with 12-hour shifts
  • Ability to perform field work on heavy equipment in Sparwood, British Columbia
