Field Service Technician maintaining and repairing Liebherr heavy mining equipment for a major Sparwood project. Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on a 14/14 rotation.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engines, and gearbox/drive train systems
Prepare new and used machinery, perform scheduled maintenance, repairs or overhauls, component replacement, commissioning and adjustment of mechanical/hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment, including warranty upgrades
Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned
Perform pre-delivery inspections and new and used equipment preparation
Occasionally service Liebherr machinery, including fluid checks, sample pulling, oil and filter checks, lubricant changes, filter replacement and greasing machine lube points
Ensure components, material and equipment are inspected and corrected to specifications and timely delivery programs are achieved
Complete final verifications specified in work instructions, scopes of work, verbal communications and specifications
Submit accurate and timely service reports and technical documentation
Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas according to company policy
Support shop repairs and work as requested
Perform other duties as assigned
Work a 14-days-on / 14-days-off schedule with 12-hour shifts and possible overtime on days off
Support a significant mining project with Elk Valley Resources, owned by Glencore Canada, while ensuring service quality and customer satisfaction
Requirements
Canadian/Alberta Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician
Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components
Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Experience with component exchange, repair and warranty-related activities
Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings
Ability to communicate detailed and complex information clearly and concisely
Self-motivated with the ability to work alone and unsupervised for extended periods
Fully proficient with computers and Microsoft Office suite
Able to work a 14-days-on / 14-days-off schedule with 12-hour shifts
Willingness to work in or near Sparwood, British Columbia, or adjacent listed locations
