About the role

  • Field Service Technician repairing and maintaining Liebherr heavy mining equipment for a major Sparwood, British Columbia project. Diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems on a 14-on/14-off schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engine and gearbox/drive train systems
  • Perform new and used machinery preparation, scheduled maintenance, repair or overhaul, commissioning and adjustment of mechanical/hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment
  • Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections and new and used equipment preparation
  • Occasionally service Liebherr machinery, including fluid checks, sample pulling, oil and filter checks, lubricant changes, filter replacement and greasing
  • Inspect components, materials and equipment, correct them to specifications and achieve timely delivery programs
  • Complete final verifications specified in work instructions, scopes of work, verbal communications and specifications
  • Submit accurate and timely service reports and technical documentation
  • Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas according to company policy
  • Support shop repairs and work as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Canadian/Alberta Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components
  • Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with component exchange, repair and warranty-related activities
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings
  • Ability to communicate detailed and complex information clearly and concisely
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work alone and unsupervised for extended periods
  • Fully proficient with computers and Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work a 14-days-on / 14-days-off schedule with 12-hour shifts
  • Willingness to work in the Sparwood, British Columbia area and adjacent listed locations
