About the role
- Regional Director delivering specialized lending and commercial mortgage solutions through financial advisors. Supporting Manulife Bank’s high-net-worth clients and growing assigned-territory relationships.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the face of Manulife Bank’s specialized lending team in an assigned territory
- Promote and provide support for specialized lending products and associated banking solutions in collaboration with Financial Advisors
- Present complete packages to underwriting, demonstrating transaction knowledge, the advisor’s financial strategy, the client’s business, and the rationale for bank participation
- Contribute to regional and national business development through promotion of new products, product enhancements, and special initiatives
- Maintain regular advisor contact programs to manage and expand Advisor relationships
- Work with centers of influence, professional advisors, and end clients
- Demonstrate the benefits of integrating specialized lending solutions with advisors’ insurance and investment businesses
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Relay field feedback and ideas for improving existing products and services and developing new products
- Provide specialized lending directly to end clients and in active collaboration with Financial Advisors
Requirements
- Fully bilingual in French and English
- Excellent consultative sales capability, including prospecting, fact-finding, presenting solutions, closing, and servicing
- 10 or more years of business or commercial banking experience
- Strong ability to read and assess corporate financial statements against bank policies
- Highly organized and self-disciplined
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Seasoned presentation skills across various formats
- Working knowledge of permanent life insurance
- Aptitude for learning and utilizing technology for business purposes
- Solid financial services and banking industry knowledge
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory
- Ability to manage multiple tasks across diverse responsibilities and prioritize workflows
- Experience coordinating bank initiatives across multiple distribution channels
- Experience working directly with advisors, professionals, and clients
- Ability to assess the likelihood of the bank’s participation in a lending proposal after preliminary review and analysis
- Experience working closely with Manulife Private Wealth, Retail, Insurance, and Securities partners
