About the role
- Front-end Developer creating web interfaces for a major Canadian media company. Transforming production tools to enhance user experience in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Transform detailed UI/UX mockups into faithful, high-performance interactive web interfaces
- Design and maintain complex front-end applications (SPAs) using modern frameworks
- Integrate REST and GraphQL APIs in collaboration with back-end teams
- Build interactive prototypes to validate UX concepts and simulate user journeys
- Participate in user research, usability testing and persona definition
- Optimize interface performance and ensure smooth user interactions
- Ensure accessibility (WCAG) and cross-browser / cross-device compatibility
- Contribute to the development of reusable components and design systems
- Act as a liaison between design, product and engineering to validate the feasibility of solutions
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in front-end development / UX
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
- Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript
- Solid skills in HTML, CSS and modern JavaScript
- Experience with REST and/or GraphQL APIs
- Good understanding of UX principles (usability, accessibility, design)
- Bilingual French-English (spoken and written) — the team works in both languages
- Familiarity with Scrum / Agile practices
- Experience with Python / Django
- Proficient with Figma or similar tools
- Experience with design systems or reusable component libraries
- Awareness of front-end performance and accessibility standards
