About the role

  • Junior analyst supporting MaRS, a Canadian innovation hub, with health-sector market research for venture clients. Building forecasts, competitive intelligence, and go-to-market insights through quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Support high-impact market research projects for venture clients, including market sizing, market opportunity assessments, investment strategies, go-to-market strategies, competitive intelligence, and partnership identification
  • Scope projects, develop proposals and research frameworks, conduct research and analysis, hold client check-ins, and present findings and recommendations
  • Translate clients’ business challenges and research needs into executive-level research outputs and recommendations
  • Develop forecast models, reports, and deliverables communicating complex market research findings using quantitative data analysis, policy, literature review, and expert interviews
  • Collaborate with colleagues on strategies, frameworks, methodologies, and product offerings to improve client experiences and support venture growth
  • Maintain timely and detailed reporting of client projects in Salesforce, Asana, and other relevant platforms
  • Contribute to internal operational efficiency initiatives and other internal projects
  • Occasionally take on secondments or special projects for strategic partners and teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Life Sciences & Biotechnology or Medical Devices
  • 0–2 years of prior experience, including internships, co-ops, academic research, or coursework, in market research, business/data analytics, consulting, or strategy
  • Knowledge of and interest in health sectors, including Life Sciences & Biotechnology and/or Medical Devices
  • Proficiency in Excel, including XLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFS, and data visualization
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and synthesize actionable insights
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to explain technical concepts to clients
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Ability to communicate with clients with tact and sensitivity
  • Experience executing quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies
  • Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Applicants must reside in Ontario
  • Applicants must be willing to work from the Toronto office a minimum of 3 days per week
