About the role
- Staff Platform Engineer responsible for defining and scaling data and ML platform at Mistplay. Leading teams in employing data strategies from raw ingestion to real-time model serving.
Responsibilities
- Define scalable, reliable ingestion systems for batch and streaming data sources
- Design the core analytical data platform
- Lead the design of scalable, maintainable transformation systems
- Lead the design of reusable, high-quality feature systems (feature stores)
- Define scalable, reproducible training and backfill systems
- Design low-latency, high-availability model serving systems
- Establish standards for data quality, feature drift, and model performance monitoring
- Evaluate, integrate, and streamline components of the data and ML platform
- Define the architectural direction of the unified platform
Requirements
- 10+ years building and operating production data and ML platforms
- Strong proficiency in Python, Scala, or Go
- Deep understanding of data platform architectures
- Deep understanding of ML platform architectures
- Strong experience designing and operating feature stores
- Strong experience with streaming systems and batch frameworks
- Experience defining SLOs, capacity planning, cost optimization, and leading incident response
- Sets the technical direction for teams
- Works effectively with data science, analytics, DevOps, and backend teams
