About the role
- Software Engineer II building Akamai's EdgeWorkers serverless edge-computing platform. Developing Java and Angular services for web performance, content delivery, and edge computing.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for a positive user experience across UI, CLI, and API
- Help shape user-focused design decisions with product managers
- Learn and work with distributed systems and Java technology
- Participate in code reviews and provide technical feedback to improve design, performance, and usability
- Investigate and resolve production issues by identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions
- Foster collaboration and uphold best practices in development and deployment pipelines
- Contribute to Akamai EdgeWorkers, a serverless edge-computing offering for web performance acceleration and content delivery
Requirements
- 2 years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in Angular/TypeScript
- Proficiency in Java/Spring Boot
- Ability to write testable code with unit and integration tests
- Solid debugging and problem-solving skills in distributed Linux systems, microservices, and containerized environments
- Hands-on experience writing agent instructions and implementing workflow best practices
- Ability to evaluate UX across tools and interfaces
- Effective verbal and written communication with technical and non-technical collaborators
