About the role
- Network Integration Engineer contributing to clean energy projects at Nordex Energy, ensuring compliance and supporting interconnection processes in North America.
Responsibilities
- Track and update the relevant ISO codes and requirements regarding reliability standards
- Evaluate compliance of the respective ISOs' network codes in relation to the existing product portfolio
- Provide recommendations regarding the interface to ensure compliance with the code and interconnection process
- Lead and facilitate discussions with project stakeholders regarding project application data
- Support the project owner during the interconnection process
- Perform simulations using dynamic models
- Liaise with the Global Grid Integration group and develop support strategies for activities in North America
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- A Ph.D. in power electronics is preferred
- More than 5 years of professional experience in renewable or conventional power development
- Experience in transmission and high-voltage grid planning
- Experience with dynamic modeling analysis software (PSCAD, PSS/E, TSAT, DIgSILENT)
- Knowledge and experience in electrical system integration (onshore wind farms)
- Thorough knowledge and familiarity with NERC reliability standards and the most representative ISO codes in North America
- Above-average expertise in using various software and programming languages for dynamic model analysis
- Excellent skills in writing and presenting clear, concise technical reports
- Requirement for fluency in English and French
- Ability and willingness to travel (average 20%)
