About the role

  • Field service technician diagnosing and repairing Orange EV electric vehicles in Cambridge. Supporting customers, charging infrastructure, training, and regional service operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field service activities for local Orange EV vehicles
  • Diagnose and repair vehicles and provide root cause analysis
  • Evaluate Remote Monitoring System data to identify performance concerns and study vehicle utilization
  • Record all service work accurately and develop pertinent reports
  • Collaborate with customers and third-party service providers on diagnosis, escalation, and repair planning
  • Provide technical support for sales and marketing efforts
  • Perform field upgrades or retrofits
  • Facilitate tools and parts warehousing and provide a secure remote location for necessary items
  • Plan and execute a complete regional service strategy with the Service Team
  • Use remote monitoring and service record systems to determine service plans and prioritize customer needs
  • Work with site managers and electricians on charging infrastructure location, cost, and timing
  • Evaluate conversion vehicle candidates and prepare condition reports
  • Support customer technicians and third-party service providers with ancillary repairs
  • Deliver operator and maintenance training and support sales and business development
  • Travel as required for initial training and to meet Service Team goals and customer needs

Requirements

  • High School Diploma; related technical degree preferred
  • 2+ years working in an automotive or electrical field environment
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Teams
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing superior customer service
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs at waist level and occasionally up to 75–100 lbs
  • Ability to squat, sit, lie under, or climb on vehicles routinely
  • Ability to handle multiple functions and adapt to rapidly changing priorities and schedules
  • Ability to set and prioritize goals and achieve them according to a schedule
  • Ability to execute and follow instructions from the supervisor
  • Clear written articulation, including composition, spelling, and punctuation
  • Required 310T Truck and Coach certification or 421A Heavy Duty Equipment certification
  • Ability to travel as required for initial training and service/customer needs
