About the role

  • Application Support Developer ensuring the optimal operation of PayFacto's payment ecosystem by monitoring systems and developing tools. Collaborating with teams to resolve critical issues and improve processes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the optimal operation of our payment ecosystem by monitoring various systems and performing analysis and investigation tasks.
  • When required, participate in the development of internal and external tools such as merchant management systems, payment portals and dashboards.
  • Take an innovative approach to create, build, automate and improve monitoring processes and procedures.
  • Resolve critical production/mission issues to meet service level agreements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes and provide corrective code.
  • Ability to document troubleshooting steps and solutions.
  • Identify technical issues and provide appropriate fixes and recommendations to resolve them.
  • Work with the team to ensure code delivery processes are followed and adhered to.
  • Adhere to established procedures regarding incident management, SLAs and team best practices.
  • Willingness to participate in the quality assurance of our software.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies.
  • Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Contribute to identifying issues related to documentation, procedures and workflows, and provide feedback during the weekly meeting.

Requirements

  • Available for on-call rotations
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) – S3, Lambda, CloudFormation
  • Strong knowledge of Java programming and the Linux environment (required)
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL (required); Oracle SQL (asset)
  • Familiarity with modern HTML, CSS and JavaScript (React, Angular)
  • Knowledge of RESTful microservices and REST APIs
  • Good understanding of the Java Spring Framework (asset)
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts, principles and solutions
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Proficiency with development tools and debugging techniques
  • Practical experience with Git, Jira and Atlassian tools
  • Practical knowledge of CI/CD approaches and tools
