About the role
- Senior Data Engineer building SQL, dbt, and Airflow data pipelines for Penn Interactive’s online gaming and sports platforms. Delivering trusted analytics and recommendations to business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Build, validate, and deliver transformed data to meet stakeholder requirements
- Liaise with business stakeholders to identify data-driven projects and opportunities
- Liaise with data engineers to build data pipelines and solve related issues
- Develop dbt models using SQL expertise
- Manage Airflow tasks and scheduling
- Assist team members with data issues related to analysis and modeling
- Complete analyses and present clear recommendations to business stakeholders
- Oversee team analysis for accuracy and informative insights
- Help implement and adopt a data exploration tool across the organization
- Support data engineer hiring, onboarding, and professional development
- Mentor others
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business, or related field
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering/data engineering
- Hands-on expertise with BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, Python, and relational databases
- Proven track record in building and optimizing data transformation pipelines
- Strong relationship management with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with a data exploration tool such as Looker or Mode
- Interest in sports and consumer products
